Everna™ Teen Reading Modules

Everyone needs a reason to read !

Driven by technology, these digital natives are hard researchers, avid gamers, and social media experts with a desire to be entertained on demand.

The world of smart technology, gaming consoles, and social media platforms has resulted in today’s teens expecting swift access to information on the go.

Find inspiration and strategies to encourage teens to read for pleasure.

Libraries need to provide access to varied resources and multiple opportunities for young people to engage with reading, which means creating the right mix of quiet, comfortable spaces with busy, social hubs that allow for diverse types of reading engagement with easy instant access to materials.

WF Education worked with librarians and educators to design corner modules specifically intended to engage teenagers to read for pleasure and improve literacy, by giving them immediate access to materials and somewhere comfortable to read – whilst giving custodians choice and speed of selection and installation.

The display and browser elements of the designs encourage teenagers to explore new titles and genres, placing books ‘face-up’ in front of them to draw attention. These options are combined with traditional flat shelves to increase book storage capacity.

Our choices of cosy or open dens and comfortable seating instantly attract young people to linger and read.

Some of our modules include eye-catching, age-appropriate graphics to further designate the space, clearly defining the purpose of the zone.

1. Select your module

Cultivating a space in the library that young people can activate and own sends a strong signal they are valued and welcome.

Choose from our five pre-defined solutions, with options to create spaces with a considered balance of book capacity and browsing opportunities or offer more stock capacity or more presentation shelving in your space.

Each module is different and offers you a specific:

  • Space requirement
  • Book capacity
  • Recommended number of students

Each module has three options:

A – optimise engagement by increasing the number of displays and seating options. It focuses on providing immediate access to teens favourite literature.

B – a balance between presentation and book stock capacity if the space is limited. It optimises the mix between seats, storage and displays.

C – maximises storage capacity for libraries with a smaller footprint and large literature stock (books).
