Edvotek® Quick PCR Kit

In this experiment, students will gain an understanding of the traditional three-step Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). Using PCR and Agarose Gel Electrophoresis, they will analyse a small section of Lambda DNA in a time-saving two-step process.
Group Size: For 10 lab groups

Time Required:
PCR Setup - 10 minutes
PCR - 30 minutes
Electrophoresis - 30 minutes
Staining - 5 minutes to overnight

Kit Includes: Instructions, PCR EdvoBeads™, LyphoPrimer™ mix, EdvoQuick™ DNA ladder, LyphoTemplate™ Lambda DNA, TE buffer, UltraSpec-Agarose™, electrophoresis buffer (50X), SYBR® Safe stain, FlashBlue™ stain, microcentrifuge & PCR tubes.

All You Need: DNA electrophoresis, thermal cycler, micropipettes: 5-50 µl, UV or blue light transilluminator, (2) water baths (if performing experiment with a thermal cycler), white light box (optional), microcentrifuge & microwave or hot plate.
