Gram Staining Kit

The Gram Stain is technique used to help identify and classify bacteria. Using this kit the bacteria are stained with crystal violet and Gram's iodine then counterstained with phenyl fuschin. Gram positive bacteria retain the crystal violet and iodine complex and are stained blue, whilst Gram negative bacteria are counterstained red. The teaching notes included are straight forward and easy to follow.
Also includes "Safe Handling of Micro-organisms" booklet which has instructions on safety, aseptic technique, culturing and disposal.
